WELCOME TO THE WORLD CUP

World Cup Logo Oh, its back! The biggest and most awaited spectacle in the world is back. The 4 year long and excruciating wait is over. The FIFA World Cup has arrived, bigger than ever, this time, in the place many call ‘The Home of Football’ – Brazil.

A billion dreams to be fulfilled and shattered, hearts to be won and broken, spirits to be raised and dampened. But in the end, only one team can stand above all, look down with a sly smirk and shout at everyone else, “We’ve conquered the world!.” Every person in the world who has ever kicked a football, dreams of that moment. Basking in all that glory, knowing that you can now die in peace, knowing that you have made a mark in history, knowing that you are a hero.

So, let’s look at what’s in store for this wild journey. Let me take you through the reasons why your summer couldn’t be any better. My dear readers- Welcome to the World Cup – where legends are made.

FIVE REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD CANCEL ALL OTHER PLANS FOR THE SUMMER

  • Most Watched Event In The World

The FIFA World Cup is one of the most watched and followed events in the world. Although only 32 countries actually take part in the tournament, the World Cup is watched in every country that has football fans. Across 7 continents (I bet there’ll be somebody watching it from Antarctica too!), 200+ countries and 20 odd time zones, everything else takes a step back from June 12th 2014. Talk of the World Cup fills homes, schools, colleges, offices, bars, restaurants, parties etc etc. It brings people together and helps you meet new people. With people supporting a variety of teams, a mood of competition arises in every group. You just don’t want to be left out of this spectacle. A billion people cannot be going nuts over nothing, right?

  • BRAZIL – The Home Of Football

They say Brazilians live and breathe football. They have the sport running through their veins. Every kid in Brazil, grows up playing football. It’s part of their culture and a way of life. Not many can match the passion for the game that Brazilians have. Which is exactly why this World Cup will be all the more special. No other country can provide a better atmosphere for the event. Expect fully packed stadiums for every single match, each with an atmosphere better than the other. Fans travelling to Brazil are in for the experience of a lifetime. Everyone across the globe, watching it on their televisions, get ready to feel the electricity through the screens. Be prepared to sit on the edge of your seats and bite your nails for the next month, because football is coming home!

  • Never Too Late To Start

If you don’t know anything about football and you’ve always wanted to, but you just didn’t know where to begin, look no further! There couldn’t be a more perfect time to join the footballing family. I speak from personal experience. In 2006, the only football player I knew was probably David Beckham, and here I am, writing a football blog. What triggered the interest? The World Cup.  It’s never too late to start, whether you’re a boy or a girl, young or old, you’ll never regret it. It’s not that difficult too. With the rise of the internet, almost every bit of information is available online. You couldn’t go more than one minute on your Facebook news feed without finding some friend posting about the World Cup. News, Talks and Gossips of the World Cup is present in newspapers and television channels. So, what are you waiting for? Join the World Cup bandwagon, because it’s going to be one hell of a ride!

  • Follow The Minnows Too

Many people think that the World Cup is worth watching only from the Quarter-Finals or the Semi-Finals. I admit, watching a match like Ecuador vs Iran isn’t exactly appealing at first thought, but I beg to differ. Every team at an event like the World Cup plays with the flair of champions. Even the small teams, even though they don’t have Messis or Ronaldos in the team, play in the highest spirits and will be bursting with confidence. The weight of an entire country’s dreams rests on each of the players’ shoulders at the World Cup. This is the biggest stage in world football and everyone wants to leave a mark on history. Every single one of the 64 matches in this tournament will be worth your time. So, don’t just wait for your favorite teams to play, watch every minute it.

  • The Making Of Legends

You look at history and pick out the best players to have graced the sport in the last century, nearly everyone is remembered for their exploits in World Cups. No-one can ever forget the likes of 17-year old Pele in ’58 and ’70, the speedy squat Maradona in ’86, Beckenbaeur and Cruyff in ’74, Baggio in ’94, Zidane in ’98 and ’06, Ronaldo in ’02 and the list goes on. 20-30 years from now, when people want to look for the legends of the past, they’ll look at this year’s World Cup. With both the best players of today, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, not having made a significant mark on the biggest stage yet, this may well be their year. So I repeat what I said earlier in this post.

Welcome to the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 – Where Legends Are Made.
